Savoy Ballroom
Lindy Hop birthplace
The Savoy Ballroom was a legendary dance hall in Harlem, New York, operating from 1926 to 1958.
It was famous for integrated audiences during the Jim Crow era and for nurturing swing dance styles, particularly the Lindy Hop.
The name now evokes the golden age of jazz and swing: They danced like they were at the Savoy.
