Penzance

Cornish seaside town

Penzance is a coastal town at the southwestern tip of Cornwall, England—the westernmost major town on the British mainland.

It appears in the title of Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera *The Pirates of Penzance*.

The name evokes remote, windswept English seaside: We took the train all the way to Penzance.
