Naples

Campania's capital city

Naples is a major city in southern Italy, the capital of Campania and Italy's third-largest city.

Known for its historic center, volcanic backdrop (Mount Vesuvius), and as the birthplace of pizza.

The surrounding region gives its name to Neapolitan ice cream and the Neapolitan mastiff.

We spent a week in Naples exploring the ruins of Pompeii.
