Octave

Do to do

An octave is the interval between one musical pitch and another with double or half its frequency—the eight-note span from C to the next C, for instance.

The term extends to any group of eight: an octave of sonnets, the eight days following a church festival.

In fencing, octave is the eighth of eight defensive positions.
