Spenser
Allegorical epic author
Edmund Spenser was an English poet of the Elizabethan era, best known for *The Faerie Queene*, an allegorical epic celebrating Queen Elizabeth I.
He developed the Spenserian stanza—nine lines rhyming ababbcbcc—and influenced English poetry for centuries.
