whole step
Two semitones combined
A whole step is a musical interval spanning two semitones—the distance from C to D, or from F to G.
Also called a whole tone.
Most adjacent notes in a major scale are a whole step apart, with half steps between the third and fourth degrees and between the seventh and eighth.
Move up a whole step from E to F-sharp.
