nano
Prefix for minuscule
Nano means extremely small, from the Greek word for dwarf.
As a metric prefix, it denotes one billionth: a nanosecond is one billionth of a second.
More loosely, nano- attaches to words to suggest miniature scale: nanotechnology, nanobot.
Standing alone, nano describes anything tiny: The portions were nano.
