Mount Hood

Cascade Range volcano

Mount Hood is a stratovolcano in northern Oregon, the highest peak in the state at over 11,000 feet.

It dominates the Portland skyline and draws skiers, climbers, and hikers year-round.

The mountain retains glaciers and is considered potentially active, though it hasn't erupted since the 1780s.

We could see Mount Hood from the city on clear days.
