PHP

Web scripting language

PHP is a programming language designed for web development, originally standing for "Personal Home Page" but now recursively defined as "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor." PHP code runs on servers to generate dynamic web content—processing forms, querying databases, managing sessions.

It powers much of the web, including WordPress and Facebook's early architecture.

The site runs on PHP and MySQL.
