English Channel

France-Britain separation

The English Channel is the narrow arm of the Atlantic Ocean separating southern England from northern France, connecting to the North Sea via the Strait of Dover.

At its narrowest point, it spans about 21 miles.

The Channel has historically served as Britain's natural defensive barrier and remains one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.

They swam the English Channel.
