Anglophone
Native English-language user
An Anglophone is an English speaker, especially in regions where language identity carries political or cultural significance.
The capitalized form treats English speakers as a distinct group: Anglophone communities in Quebec, tensions between Francophone and Anglophone populations.
Common in Canadian and postcolonial contexts. (Lowercase anglophone is also standard.)
