land bridge
Walkable intercontinental passage
A land bridge is a strip of land connecting two larger landmasses, allowing migration of people, animals, and plants between them.
The term most often refers to prehistoric connections now submerged—particularly the Bering land bridge that once linked Asia and North America: Humans crossed the land bridge into the Americas during the last ice age.
