tidal range
High-low water span
Tidal range is the vertical difference between high tide and low tide at a given location.
It varies by geography—the Bay of Fundy has extreme tidal ranges exceeding fifty feet, while the Mediterranean has ranges of only inches.
The harbor is unusable at low tide due to the large tidal range.
