Hundred Years War
Medieval dynastic struggle
The Hundred Years War was a series of conflicts between England and France from 1337 to 1453, fought primarily over English claims to the French throne.
Despite its name, the war spanned 116 years with long periods of truce.
It featured Joan of Arc's campaigns and the widespread use of the longbow.
France ultimately prevailed, ending English territorial ambitions on the continent.
