feeding
Providing food intake
Feeding is the act of giving food or nourishment.
It can describe providing food to another—feeding a baby, feeding the birds—or the act of eating itself: The deer were feeding in the meadow.
Extended uses involve supplying anything that sustains: feeding a fire, feeding someone's ego, feeding data into a system.
A feeding is also a single instance of being fed: The baby's midnight feeding woke everyone.
