Galway Bay

Atlantic Irish waters

Galway Bay is a large inlet of the Atlantic Ocean on Ireland's west coast, bordered by County Galway to the north and County Clare to the south.

The Aran Islands sit at its mouth.

The bay is celebrated in Irish song and poetry, particularly the sentimental ballad "Galway Bay": The sun goes down on Galway Bay.
