Shiny video platters
DVDs are optical discs used for storing video, audio, and data.
The format dominated home video from the late 1990s through the 2000s, replacing VHS tapes before being largely supplanted by streaming and Blu-ray.
I still have a shelf full of DVDs from college.
The acronym stands for Digital Versatile Disc or Digital Video Disc.
