secondhand
Not brand new
Secondhand describes something previously owned or used by another: secondhand clothes, a secondhand car.
It also means not from the original source: secondhand information, I heard it secondhand.
The implication is that secondhand things—whether objects or knowledge—have passed through an intermediary and may be less reliable or valuable than firsthand.
Also spelled second-hand.
