pressure hull
Submarine's protective casing
A pressure hull is the watertight inner shell of a submarine or submersible, designed to withstand the immense water pressure at depth.
It encloses the crew compartments and critical systems, maintaining habitable atmospheric pressure inside while the ocean presses in from all sides.
Failure of the pressure hull at depth is catastrophic and typically fatal.
