pressure tank
Compressed air vessel
A pressure tank is a sealed container that holds liquid or gas under pressure higher than atmospheric.
In residential water systems, a pressure tank maintains water pressure between pump cycles, reducing pump wear: The well pump fills the pressure tank until it reaches the cutoff pressure.
Pressure tanks also store compressed air for tools or propane for fuel systems.
