pressurized cabin
Airtight flight compartment
A pressurized cabin is an enclosed compartment in an aircraft or spacecraft where air pressure is maintained at levels comfortable for human occupancy, despite the low atmospheric pressure at high altitudes.
Without pressurization, passengers and crew at cruising altitude would experience hypoxia and other dangerous effects.
The flight attendant explained that the pressurized cabin allows us to breathe normally at 35,000 feet.
