movie camera

Cinematic capture device

A movie camera is a device that captures moving images by recording a rapid sequence of photographs onto film.

Distinguished from still cameras by their continuous shooting mechanism, movie cameras were the standard tool for filmmaking before digital video cameras largely replaced them: They shot the documentary on a vintage 16mm movie camera.
