movie projector

A movie projector is a device that shines light through film to display moving images on a screen.

The film advances frame by frame while a shutter creates the illusion of continuous motion.

Before digital cinema, projectors were standard in theaters: The old movie projector broke down during the climax.

Now largely replaced by digital systems, though some theaters and collectors maintain them.
