Labeling is attaching labels to things—literally affixing tags to products or containers, or figuratively assigning categories to people or ideas.
The labeling on food packages must list ingredients.
To accuse someone of labeling is to suggest they're reducing complex realities to simple categories: Stop labeling everyone who disagrees with you.
