blanking

Wiping completely clean

Blanking is forgetting or failing to recall something, especially suddenly or under pressure: I kept blanking on her name.

It also means ignoring someone deliberately, treating them as if they don't exist: She's been blanking me all week.

In manufacturing, blanking is cutting flat shapes from sheet metal.

To blank out is to lose awareness momentarily or to obscure something: The censor blanked out the profanity.
