What hooves contain
Keratin is a fibrous protein that forms the structural material of hair, nails, horns, hooves, claws, and the outer layer of skin.
It's tough and largely insoluble, which is why these structures resist wear and don't dissolve in water.
Keratin treatments in hair salons use the protein to smooth and strengthen damaged hair.
