impala

Savanna's graceful bounder

An impala is a medium-sized African antelope known for its reddish-brown coat and spectacular leaping ability.

Impalas can jump up to ten feet high and thirty feet forward to evade predators.

They travel in herds across savannas and woodlands: We watched a herd of impalas grazing near the watering hole. (Capitalized Impala is a Chevrolet model.)
