overlapping
Sharing common ground
Overlapping describes things that extend over and cover part of each other, like roof shingles or fish scales.
The term applies to any partial sharing of space, time, or content: overlapping shifts, overlapping responsibilities, overlapping interests.
When schedules or territories overlap, they share common ground without being identical.
