elastin
Skin's recoil molecule
Elastin is a protein found in connective tissue that allows skin, blood vessels, and organs to stretch and return to their original shape.
Unlike collagen, which provides strength and structure, elastin provides flexibility and resilience.
The body produces less elastin with age, contributing to wrinkles and sagging skin.
