hemorrhagic
Causing severe bleeding
Hemorrhagic describes conditions involving or characterized by hemorrhage—the escape of blood from ruptured vessels.
The term appears almost exclusively in medical contexts: hemorrhagic stroke, hemorrhagic fever, hemorrhagic shock.
A hemorrhagic stroke results from bleeding in the brain, as opposed to an ischemic stroke caused by blocked blood flow.
