hemorrhagic shock
Blood loss crisis
Hemorrhagic shock is a life-threatening condition caused by severe blood loss, in which the body cannot maintain adequate circulation.
The heart pumps faster but with less blood volume, organs begin to fail, and without intervention, death follows.
The trauma patient went into hemorrhagic shock on the operating table.
The term applies when blood loss—from injury, surgery, or internal bleeding—depletes the circulatory system beyond its ability to compensate.
