resuscitation
Restarting stopped breathing
Resuscitation is the act of reviving someone from unconsciousness or apparent death.
The term most often refers to emergency procedures like CPR: The paramedics attempted resuscitation for twenty minutes.
Figuratively, resuscitation applies to reviving anything that has failed or faded: the resuscitation of a struggling company, the resuscitation of an abandoned project.
