dengue
Mosquito-transmitted viral illness
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease common in tropical regions, causing high fever, severe headache, joint and muscle pain, and sometimes a rash.
The pain is so intense it's called breakbone fever.
Severe cases can develop into dengue hemorrhagic fever, which can be fatal: There's been a dengue outbreak in the region.
