opacity
Quality blocking light
Opacity is the quality of blocking light—the opposite of transparency.
An opaque surface has high opacity; a clear one has none.
The term extends to anything difficult to see through or understand: the opacity of legal language, the opacity of his motives.
In graphics software, opacity controls how much underlying content shows through a layer.
