biosafety
Hazardous organism protocols
Biosafety is the set of practices and precautions designed to prevent exposure to dangerous biological agents—pathogens, toxins, or genetically modified organisms.
Biosafety levels (BSL-1 through BSL-4) classify laboratories by the hazard of the materials handled, with BSL-4 reserved for the deadliest agents like Ebola.
The lab's biosafety protocols required full protective gear.
