Indoor sports facility
A gymnasium is a large room or building equipped for indoor sports, physical education, and exercise.
In American schools, it's where students take gym class and where basketball games and assemblies are held.
The word is often shortened to gym.
In German-speaking countries and some others, a Gymnasium is a secondary school that prepares students for university.
