lyceum
Public speaking venue
A lyceum is an institution for public lectures and educational programs, or the hall where such events occur.
The term comes from the name of the ancient Athenian gymnasium where Aristotle taught.
In 19th-century America, lyceums were a popular movement bringing speakers and debates to local communities: The lyceum circuit helped launch many careers in public speaking.
