coliseum
Grand entertainment venue
A coliseum is a large stadium or arena for sports, concerts, or other public events.
The word derives from the Colosseum in Rome, the ancient amphitheater where gladiatorial contests were held.
Modern coliseums host everything from basketball games to rock concerts: The band sold out the coliseum three nights in a row.
