In-house sports competitions
Intramurals are sports competitions between teams from the same school or institution, as opposed to varsity or intercollegiate athletics that pit different schools against each other.
The word comes from Latin for "within walls"—games played inside one's own campus boundaries.
I played intramural basketball my freshman year.
Often shortened to IMs.
