Uncovered stadium seating
Bleachers are tiered bench seating, typically without backs, found at outdoor sports fields and stadiums.
The term comes from the bleaching effect of sun exposure on both the wooden benches and the spectators sitting in them.
Bleacher seats are usually the cheapest in a venue: We sat in the bleachers at the baseball game.
The singular bleacher appears mainly as a modifier: bleacher seats, bleacher creature.
