fieldhouse

Indoor athletics venue

A fieldhouse is a large building for indoor athletics, typically at a university or municipal facility.

It usually contains a track, courts, and space for events too large for a regular gymnasium.

The term is most common in American English: The basketball team practices at the fieldhouse when weather keeps them off the outdoor courts.
