gaffs

Landing fish tools

Gaffs names several unrelated things.

A gaff is a pole with a hook for landing large fish, or a spar supporting a sail's upper edge.

In slang, a gaff is a cheap theater or carnival, and in British slang, one's home: Let's go back to my gaff.

A gaff is also a hidden device for cheating at cards or gambling.

In drag culture, a gaff is an undergarment that tucks male genitalia to create a smooth appearance.

To blow the gaff is to reveal a secret.
