dip nets
Handheld aquatic scoops
A dip net is a small handheld net on a frame attached to a pole, used to scoop fish, bait, or aquatic creatures from the water.
Unlike cast nets or seines, dip nets are lowered into the water and lifted straight up: He used a dip net to transfer the fish from the bucket to the tank.
Also called a landing net when used to land fish already hooked.
