spearfishing
Diving with harpoons
Spearfishing is hunting fish underwater using a spear or speargun.
The fisher typically swims with mask and fins, either free-diving or using scuba gear, and impales fish individually rather than netting them.
It requires skill in breath-holding, stalking, and accurate aim: He went spearfishing off the reef and came back with a grouper.
