center line
Highway's middle stripe
A center line is a line that divides something into two equal halves, running through the middle.
In road markings, the center line separates traffic moving in opposite directions; crossing it carelessly invites collision.
In sports like hockey and basketball, it divides the playing surface into two zones.
Technical drawings use center lines to indicate the axis of symmetrical objects.
The puck crossed the center line.
