traffic
Vehicles in motion
Traffic is the movement of vehicles, people, or goods along routes of transportation, or the collective mass of things moving: Traffic was backed up for miles.
By extension, traffic refers to the flow of data through communication networks or visitors through a website.
The word also denotes illegal or disreputable commerce, particularly in drugs or humans, and as a verb means to engage in such trade: They were arrested for trafficking weapons.
To traffic in something more generally is to deal in it, often with unsavory connotations.
