goal area
Goalkeeper's protected rectangle
The goal area is a rectangular box marked on a soccer field directly in front of each goal, measuring six yards out from the goal line.
Goal kicks must be taken from within this area.
Sometimes called the six-yard box, it sits inside the larger penalty area: The goalkeeper collected the ball in the goal area.
