brasswinds
Trumpets and tubas
Brasswinds are musical instruments made of brass or other metal in which sound is produced by vibrating the lips against a cup-shaped or funnel-shaped mouthpiece.
The family includes trumpets, trombones, French horns, and tubas.
The term is less common than simply brass or brass instruments, which are standard in orchestral contexts.
The brasswinds section overpowered the strings during rehearsal.
