trumpet
Valved brass instrument
A trumpet is a brass musical instrument with a flared bell, played by buzzing the lips into a cupped mouthpiece.
It produces a bright, penetrating tone used in orchestras, jazz bands, and military ceremonies.
To trumpet is to proclaim loudly or boastfully: He trumpeted his achievements to anyone who would listen.
Elephants trumpet when they make their characteristic loud call.
