Conical bore horn
A flugelhorn is a brass instrument similar to a trumpet but with a wider, more conical bore that produces a mellower, darker tone.
It's a staple of jazz and brass bands, often used for lyrical passages where a softer sound is desired: The flugelhorn solo gave the ballad its warmth.
